Since 1999, “XDude” has been a widely-recognized brand, associated with a distinctive and unmistakable style. The name is synonymous with energy, excitement, attitude, fast-paced action, punchy phrases, and client-centered copy, with a healthy dose of rebellion against what is considered “the norm.” From obscure, single-page sites to well-known projects for Warner Brothers, XDude's clients have enjoyed products that have consistently exceeded their expectations -- and
their clients have enjoyed experiencing them.
XDude's road to computer geekdom began at a very early age (around six or seven). The playing field was an Atari 400: a personal computer with a flat, hard plastic keyboard that was difficult for small fingers to type on. Back then, it wasn’t always possible to just put a game in, turn it on, and start playing right away; rather, it was necessary to type a couple lines of code to get the program to run. This typing-of-code must have been intriguing, because later, XDude found himself painstakingly typing dozens of lines of code to see a square “ball” bounce around the screen. By age 11, he was composing songs in GWBasic, and by 16 began writing business databases in Turbo Pascal.
As adept as he was at programming, XDude's real fascination was with the world of animation. However, it wasn't until 1998 that the necessary technology became readily available -- in the form of Macromedia's Flash 3.
It could move. It could morph. It could dazzle and amaze, and it did. Sites like
EYE4U got the blood racing, and while his first works were far less impressive, XDude's style soon caught the eye of Warner Brothers, who contracted him to complete Flash presentations for Any Given Sunday, The Perfect Storm, and Rock Star.
XDude's style has been often imitated and never duplicated. His work has been ripped off by a countless number of amateurs, with varying degrees of subtlety. Imitation, as they say, is the sincerest form of flattery.
"In today’s marketplace, there are probably better designers than XDude. There may also be better marketers than XDude. However, there are no better designer/marketers out there than XDude."
